Starting feeds and speeds for micro drilling.

Transcribed from the 2026–2027 product catalogue, printed page 59 (high-speed drilling parameters for DC326 / DC426L). These are starting values for a rigid setup with a suitable holder and coolant — not production guarantees.

The printed table covers 20 diameters and five material groups; the four representative diameters above are the ones most often used for a first comparison. Printed page 60 adds diameter bands for DC326 / DC326L / DCC326 / DC326XL and for coated series DC426 / DC426L / DC426XL, including aluminium, copper, engineering plastics, stainless, titanium Ti-6Al-4V, Inconel and cast iron. How to use these numbers

Start low on stainless
Austenitic stainless work hardens. The catalogue feed is roughly half the aluminium value at the same diameter.
Watch runout first
Below 0.3 mm, holder runout dominates tool life. Check the assembly before changing the feed.
Scale by rigidity
Long-reach and extended-length geometries need a reduced feed; the table assumes a standard flute length.
